ATTENTION LONG LAKE VOTERS
The Township has recently consolidated its three voting precincts into two. This change was made for several reasons.
Due to the increased use of absentee ballots and the implementation of early voting, fewer voters are in person on Election Day. In addition, because of increased security measures schools now face, Westwood Elementary has requested that we develop a plan to discontinue using their gymnasium as a polling location.
This consolidation will also allow the Township to reduce the cost of administering elections. By operating two precincts instead of three, the Township will see a significant reduction in expenditures related to voting equipment, election inspectors’ wages, and supplies.
